Q. What are the strengths of GFRIEND?
Eunha: Our healthy beauty!
Yuju: Probably our fresh appearance. We wear common and athletic clothes. Due to our ages we can truly represent that image well. Having the image of students running around in the school playground seems to be our strong point.
Q. Active girl groups often make complaints about being on a diet.
Yuju: It was hard for all the members. SinB, Yerin, Eunha, and Umji were the member that had to really diet. All they could have was salad and porridge.
Umji: I tried my best to diet. I also tried the honey and water diet before....at first I said, "Oh! This is something I can do every day!", however it really took a lot of courage. Haha. Ah, that's the truth. There was one time after debut when we were going to eat and it change our expectations.
Q. What would the members like to eat the most?
All members: Meat!!! Seafood!!!!!!!
Q. Tell us about this certain episode that occurred at someone's home.
Yuju: This happened in the home of SinB's father. Innocently enough I touched something on a machine they had there. Apparently it was something important to the home. What ended up happening was that that the shower stopped working, and SinB said this was easy to fix. Just before that Umji's Dream Lens contacts fell down the drain. SinB was able to open up the drain and calmly gave it back to Umji. Umji was grateful and gave SinB a gift for her effort.
SinB: Before we got started with our activities I had an interest in cosmetics, but I didn’t not have a cosmetic remover and neither did Umji, but she gave me one as a gift.
Umji: The lenses were very expensive...so it was very wonderful of SinB.
Yuju: Oh yea, after staying in the home of SinB's father went to stay with Yerin's mom.
Q. Nowadays Idols like to try activities in different areas of entertaining, such as acting. What is GFRIEND's plan for this?
Sowon: I believe our first priority is our group. (We wait until we become popular as a group?) All members would like to try several things like acting and also featuring in a song. They want to try songwriting, composing, and even OSTs. Haha.
Yuju: I also want to write my own songs. I want to continue to learning but it may be a lot of work.
Q. Describe the special charms of each member of GFRIEND!
Yuju: I am impressed by their sleeping style. So I will tell the charm of the members. My first impression of Sowon is like what SinB described; there is some force behind her. She is really attentive in many ways, and also responsible. Being the leader, she often has to sacrifice herself. When she catches us trying to eat a sweat secretly she says "That's mine!" Thus, she sacrifices herself for us. (All members: We are really touched by that! Haha!) The reverse charm of SinB is excellent. I am always thankful for her being honest and aiding us in getting back to business.
Umji: Sometimes SinB can seem serious but when you talk to her she is friendly and feminine.
Yuju: Eunha is a friend I can depend on, even though we are the same age. She does not get tired when you go to her for support. She is an honest person, is feminine and has protective instincts. Her voice is beautiful! We are especially amused by her gags.
Umji: When we are in broadcasts Eunha might seem quiet, but in the dorm she is always giving us the biggest laughs.
Q. What are the charms of the other members?
Yuju: Yerin is very cute. Outwardly you can obviously see that, but her normal behavior is also cute. Yerin is very neat and clean, really meticulous. She is a big help in the making of a lot of tasty meals we have. The first time I saw Umji I thought she was really cute. She is baby-like, but surprisingly she has very mature and deep thoughts. She has a smart and good mind, and she's a positive friend. With every passing day she gets prettier.
SinB: Being the same age as Umji, we go through the same things together and are there for each other. She is considerate in the things she does.
Yerin: That's right! Even though she's young, you can talk about your troubles with her.
Sowon: Me too! Although I am the oldest, when I have concerns I go to Umji to talk about it.
Eunha: It seems like Umji has the appearance of being the mom.
Q. What kind of music genre or color do you want GFRIEND to have?
Sowon: I think Glass Bead is a song that suits our member. If we try to appear sexier, that will be a difficulty for us. For the time being we want to continue with music similar to Glass Bead. When we grow in age then we will be more attracted to a change in our concept and have the music match our ages.
Q. Idols are described by a certain qualifier word joined with ~idol. Is there any term you want to use for yourselves?
Everyone: G-Friend-idols! Or another way to say it, we want to be Girl Friend-idols.
Q. What kind of singers does GFRIEND want to be known as by the public?
Sowon: We want to be like our role models Shinhwa. I've heard that it’s difficult for members to stay together for a long time. All six members of GFRIEND want to be a group with a long existence, to 10 years, 20 years, even when we already have children.
Q. When you face difficulties, what would you say yourself to get encouraged?
Sowon: Until now you faced frequent troubles, even if things are more difficult in the future they will eventually be good like now.
Eunha: Eunha Fighting!!
Yerin: Let's think positive no matter what. I believe in you.
Umji: While things may be going well now, gain from strength from your members.
Yuju: People can't go into the future until they face unpredictable trials. When you do that you become someone that helps those people around you.
