"We are not lip-syncing! We are live!"
Recently, the girl group Red Velvet (Wendy, Irene, Seulgi, Joy) has returned with the womanly aura of 'Be Natural', the remake of SES's hit song. It is the exact opposite of their defining debut, 'Happiness,' which showed us their charm as cute girls with bubbly personalities. It was Happiness that first attracted our attention.
Red Velvet told me their impressions of starting their activities again and how it was meeting with reporters at music broadcast locations. First, they had to prepare themselves in different ways to shed their cute image and confront the new stage. "There are certain things we must do. It was a big transformation going from Happiness to Be Natural," Wendy told me, "We want to show our audience that Red Velvet is a group capable of doing all types of genres."
Seulgi commented further, "The truth is we are divided on what we like and dislike about it, but the chairs we all agree on. Be Natural has a very good feeling and there's a story behind it which became known to us." The concept and song may appear difficult but the group members wanted to clarify, "We practice often for our performances, our appeal is that we persevere."
I asked them a question, "As a very young Red Velvet, were you all able to get the feel of 'Be Natural' from the SES original, which has a lot of memories behind it?" The members of Red Velvet described that they had practiced a lot of songs from their seniors during their time as trainees, "We have learned a lot about the feel of those songs in the practice room."
One of the members just turned 18, born in 1996. Being that she is the youngest I wondered if she was able to manage the more mature concepty. However, they assured me that she handled it well and praised her. "There was no concern for Joy because she is so feminine and mature that her performances will always look good," Irene confessed. Joy said, "I just want to thank our fans and we hope they are delighted."
Red Velvet completed the stage of a high difficulty through the chair performance. There were some mistakes during practice, such as members hitting the head of others with their foot during one segment of the chair dance, but fortunately there were no such accidents on the stage, even though most of them were live.
That same day, after ending this interview, the members of the Red Velvet went out to perform 'live', we and the lip-synching in the "corner, we have to be too small of a mouth with to say live, but a misunderstanding it. We live was emphasized. Red Velvet says they do things diligently and "are always practicing hard in their song and dance, aiming to be a group with self-confidence. The reporter asked, “Are you all really singing live?” with a look that expressed doubt. To which Irene replied with a slight aggravated tone, “We are truly doing it live, you can trust us on that.”
The reporter was looking into the matter, as the truth is that even so called live singing can be misunderstood as lip-sync based on variations of music broadcast. It became a he topic of interest by internet users who found out about Red Velvet Recently.
Red Velvet appeared on the SMTown World Tour concert almost immediately after their debut and met with fans from all over the world. "When we just made our debut we initially had a small fan base, but because of the SM Tour we have met a lot of people from overseas who became our fans. It was really wonderful." Irene said.
In addition, when standing on the stage at the ending of SMTown, Seulgi was excitedly present. In truth, they were on a concert in Seoul, she had been lost in that among the personnel and were not able to interact much with the audience. However, in the recent concert they were more active, "we greeted Japanese fans and saw in their eyes all the courage and love they had for us." Wendy also added, "We were happy despite the rain coming down. We will never forget it."
Red Velvet plans to show more of their 'Be Natural' stage through music broadcasts in the future. The song garnered interest in various countries, from October 6 - 12, it was a top online video in China and some Korean weekly music video weekly charts, reaching as far as the number 2 spot.
Comments:
1. Lee Sooman: "Lip-syncing is also a genre of music!" We are aware of this directly from SM's words...

2. SM has some good live singers in TVXQ, SHINee, TaeTiSeo, etc. The problem is that the company has a set of groups that are merely dancers who just lip-sync like goldfish or frolic around like dogs. SM has been branded as the lip-syncing company...

3. I will need them to get different hair styles so I could distinguish each other their faces

4. Things can be quite misleading. I've figured this when they were performing Happiness live. I could still notice when things were prerecorded. As if an ignorant human being cannot be classify live or prerecorded. I have witnessed their stage several times, but even when it was live there were noticeable backing tracks.

5. No matter how you try to look, they all seem alike...can any fans even tell their faces apart...their faces lack distinct features that it would take someone skilled at identifying slight differences to otherwise know who is each
